Support Muckross
Every stroke on Lough Leane is made possible by the volunteers, coaches, families and business supporters who stand behind the club.
The real cost of keeping crews on the water
Running a rowing club takes a lot of work behind the scenes. The day-to-day costs add up quickly: petrol for the safety launches that follow every crew, insurance, and the regular bills (electricity and water) that keep the boathouse open year-round.
On top of that there's the ongoing upkeep of both the old and new boathouses and the pontoons, with the dozens of small repairs that come with buildings sat on the shore of the lake. And of course the equipment itself: boat repairs, replacement oars, new ergometers and eventually new racing shells from Filippi or training gear from Concept2 .
Membership fees cover only part of it. Every donation and sponsorship helps keep Muckross competing at the highest level.
